Water marbling is an ancient art form called Suminagashi or “floating ink” that began in Japan during the 10th century. Around the 15th century, another form of marbling called Ebru or “clouds on water” evolved in Turkey and Pursia. Kim leverages traditional Ebru techniques with her own flair to create stunning digital patterns and designs. Some are created on canvases, wood panels, and paper; including colored, music and other recycled papers with type.
